My Investment Portfolio (End Jul 2018)

Transactions made in Jul 2018:
- Bought 600 units of Keppel Corp at $7

I added on Keppel Corp as it had dropped a fair bit since reaching $8++. I doubt oil prices will recover and go back to over 100 dollars anytime soon. But I still chose to invest in Keppel Corp as its business is also in other sectors such as property and investment. Unfortunately, the share price took a hit when the government announced measures to cool the private property market.

The month of Jul (and in Aug) will be exciting as many companies will be announcing their results and dividends will be paid out.

Dividends received* in Jul 2018: $1,033.72 (Suntec Reit, Singtel, CapitaCom Trust, Keppel Corp, Keppel DC Reit, Singpost, First Reit)

Total dividends received in 2018: $4,737.23

Average dividends per month: $394.77

Total Portfolio Market Value: $163,200

* Dividends are recognised after ex-dividend (xd) date
# Excludes investments in Cryptocurrency since it is of high risk and with an investment fund which I am prepared to write off.

  1. Hi MIM

Interesting add there on Keppel Corp.

Are you looking in terms of oil price rebound or their other division that help to turn around the earnings?

    1. Hi B, I am expecting other divisions to help turn around the earnings while the oil prices is taking its time to recover.

    1. Hi, I am using poems. All these stocks were purchase over a 7 year period, since 2011. Also, I am purchasing stocks for my family too. This is how I am able to purchase what appears to be a small number of units of a particular stocks. For example, I had actually purchased more than 600 units of Keppel Corp last month.

    3. Hi, I do not think you understood my reply. I am buying for my family using the same brokerage account, so the brokerage fee is not too much. For example, my keppel corp shares which I purchased, I had actually bought more than 2000 units (of which 600 is for myself) using the same brokerage account. So the brokerage fee would be prorated.

  3. Thank you so much for sharing your story. I love reading about other people pursuing FI, there’s always something to learn from their experience.

I started my journey towards financial independence 3 years ago, hoping to be able to retire within 5 years. To my own surprise, I’m actually on track to pull it off. I didn’t go the traditional stocks and bonds route so maybe you can learn something from me as well. Feel free to swing by at https://financiallyfree.eu

I’m looking forward to future updates from you!
